Alaska Bans TikTok On State Devices

Alaska has joined other states in the fight for common sense...

And against communism.

TikTok is banned on all state devices in Alaska.

Governor Mike Dunleavy joined other American states on January 6 by declaring that it would be illegal to install Chinese-based TikTok on any device owned by the state of Alaska:

"Simply put, TikTok poses a clear risk to any network or user it touches. National security experts continue to highlight TikTok as a national security concern, including the possibility that the Chinese government may use TikTok to control data collection, influence TikTok's recommendation algorithm, and compromise personal devices."

The executive order also prohibits anyone using the state's internet network from accessing TikTok.

Alaska is now the 16th state that has banned TikTok on ALL state devices, joining four others who have banned it on SOME state devices.

Dunleavy said that the law will go into effect immediately:

"Additionally, if TikTok is currently downloaded on any State device, it must be immediately removed, and appropriate steps shall be taken to secure the device."

Dunleavy joins other lawmakers like Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin and Marco Rubio in the fight against TikTok, which is owned by Chinese company ByteDance.

ByteDance has already admitted that American's data has been illegally breached on at least two confirmed occasions, and who knows how deep the company's ties are with China's communist government.

"TikTok is owned by ByteDance. ByteDance is controlled by the CCP. That means the CCP can track your location,' Gallagher said. "It can track your keystrokes. It can censor your news. Why would we give our foremost adversary that amount of power?"
