The biggest strike against Beto in Texas has always been his stance against gun ownership.
He tried to get away from that but the mass shooting in Uvalde had Beto screaming about guns again.
He thought it was an opportunity to gain some momentum, but it crushed his campaign.
He has also dug in on abortion, but there are still far too many God-fearing southerners in this state to buy in.
Saturday night, Donald Trump held a rally in Texas, calling out Democrats.
He stated, "They're against oil, God, and guns, and they say they're going to do well in Texas.
"I don't think so."
Trump implored Texans, "Go out and vote up and down the slate, vote for good, great Republicans.
"You are an incredible group of people.
"You're tough, you're brave, and brilliant.
"Americans deserve a Congress and president that protect the borders of our nation.
"It's called, a very simply policy: America First."
