The news from the Middle East just keeps getting worse for Joe Biden.
There are now reports surfacing that American weapons from the failed withdrawal from Afghanistan are being used by Palestinian groups fighting against Israel.
This was suspected back in June, when a Newsweek report cited an Israeli commander who verified that some of the weapons are now in the hands of terrorists.
Helping the Enemy
The commander spoke to Newsweek on the condition that his identity would be kept hidden.
He was explaining that the current “dangerous” situation in the Black Sea had Israel concerned.
He explained, “One is that they can research capabilities, and then learn how to manufacture them. I’m talking especially about Iran. The other problem is that we are very worried that some of these capabilities are going to fall to Hezbollah and Hamas’ hands.”
The report went on to say that a weapons cache of roughly $100 million had been dropped in Tehran by Russia, which was believed to have been more Western weapons. The cache included, “U.S.-made Javelins and United Kingdom-made Next Generation Light Anti-armor weapons (NLAWs).”
The State Department responded, “The U.S. Government remains keenly aware of the risk of possible illicit diversion, and is proactively taking steps to mitigate this risk in close cooperation with the government of Ukraine.
“We are sending weapons to help Ukraine defend itself in an active conflict, and realistically must acknowledge that there is a risk these weapons could be captured if territory changes hands, as can happens [sic] in any war.”
So, now we have weapons from the Afghanistan withdrawal as well as aid we are sending to Ukraine that is apparently being used by terrorists to attack our biggest ally in the Middle East.
I have to say… congratulations, Joe Biden. Even I did not think you could screw up this badly.
