Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) may be well-known in Washington but his name remains relatively unknown in California, according to a new poll.
The concern comes as Schiff is running for Senate in his state in 2024 against several fellow Democrats competing in the primary.

"Schiff is struggling with name recognition in California in his race to replace Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), where he faces rival Reps. Katie Porter (D) and Barbara Lee (D)," Breitbart News reported.
"Schiff is also struggling to draw support from younger voters, who tend to favor 49-year-old Porter," it continued.

"Schiff may have won over avid MSNBC viewers with his attempts to impeach Trump in 2019 and 2020. But even those aware of him are probably not familiar with his stances on important California issues, such as housing, homelessness, and child care," the Sacramento Bee reported.
"Schiff has been a Los Angeles-area congressman for 23 years. To win statewide, 'he’s got to raise his name recognition,' said Spencer Kimball, Emerson College polling executive director," it added.
The California Democrat has had little problem, however, in raising funds for his Senate campaign. He has reportedly raised more than twice as much as Porter.
The congressman's recent years have largely focused on attacking former President Donald Trump, including support for his impeachment and leading the push for his investigation.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein, 90, is retiring after decades in the Senate, leaving an open seat Democrats are fighting to fill.
Schiff will now have to focus on issues closer to home as he seeks to reconnect with California voters to win a tough primary to replace Feinstein.
