Actor Ryan O'Neal Passes Away

Ryan O’Neal, star of the hit film Love Story and TV series Peyton Place has passed away at the age of 82.

Aside from his acting career, Ryan O’Neal may be most famously known as Farrah Fawcett’s long-time life partner.

The two were together from 1979 to 1997 and then eventually reconnected between 2001 and 2009.

O’Neal’s son, Patrick O’Neal, confirmed the news to Fox News Digital.

“Yes my father passed away today,” said Patrick O’Neal.

Patrick O’Neal also confirmed the news on Instagram, where he wrote a beautiful tribute to his father “from the heart.”

"So this is the toughest thing I’ve ever had to say but here we go. My dad passed away peacefully today, with his loving team by his side supporting him and loving him as he would us," Patrick O’Neal wrote.

At this time, a cause of death has not been confirmed, however, back in 2012, O’Neal was given a diagnosis of prostate cancer.

"Ryan never bragged, but he has bragging rights in Heaven. Especially when it comes to Farrah. Everyone had the poster, he had the real McCoy. And now they meet again," Patrick O’Neal went on to say.

Ryan O’Neal’s daughter, Tatum O’Neal, has also commented on the death of her father.

"I feel great sorrow with my father’s passing. He meant the world to me. I loved him very much and know he loved me too. I'll miss him forever. and I feel very lucky that we ended on such good terms," Tatum O’Neal said to People magazine.

While Tatum O’Neal and her father were close during her childhood, even starring together in Paper Moon back in 1973, the two hit a rough patch in their relationship and had only recently reconnected.

Prayers and peace to the surviving family members of Ryan O’Neal and all those who loved him.
