Actor Gary Crotty, also known as Biff Wiff, passes away
Legendary character actor Gary Crotty has passed away.
Crotty, who many knew by his stage name, Biff Wiff, has lost his battle with recurring cancer.
Having cancer once is bad enough, a recurring form of it would be a NIGHTMARE.
Crotty, who was in his 60s, passed away on Valentine’s Day.
His entertainment agency confirmed the news of his passing on Instagram.
“It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of our beloved client and actor, Biff Wiff,” the post began.
“Biff was an amazing person inside and out, and his loving energy could be felt by all. We are sending our heartfelt sympathies to his family & loved ones at this time,” the caption said.
Crotty had some impressive roles over the years, acting in huge television shows like I Think You Should Leave, Roseanne, Reba, iCarly, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
The actor’s friends created a GoFundMe page back in May of 2023 and had been sharing updates of his battle there, including updates from Crotty himself.
“I'm not sure how to respond. I'm back in the hospital again dealing with side effects of the cancer I was diagnosed with late last year and have no idea when or if I will recover,” Crotty said at the time.
Crotty’s fundraiser brought in nearly $130,000 before he passed away.
“We appreciate the generosity of so many friends and family,” one of the site's posts read.
“All of this generosity has gone a long way helping Biff with his medical bills, but, more importantly, it fills Biff up with life to have this support. It is truly, truly humbling and such a bright light in his life. Thank you, thank you, thank you!” the post continued.
While it is tragic that Crotty lost his fight to cancer, we hope he was comforted watching all the donations, support, and kind words pour in throughout his battle.
We pray for everyone grieving the loss of the incredible actor Biff Wiff.
