Activist Actress Susan Sarandon Dropped by Agency

In this country, we have freedom of speech, but that does not mean that you are not held accountable for your actions.

Actress and activist Susan Sarandon just found that out the hard way.

Sarandon had been hitting Israel hard over the war with Hamas, so her talent agency has decided to drop her as a client.

Repercussions

Sarandon has been appearing at pro-Palestine rallies to call out Israel.

On November 17, she was at a rally and made a horrific comment, stating, "There are a lot of people that are afraid, that are afraid of being Jewish at this time, and are getting a taste of what it feels like to be a Muslim in this country, so often subjected to violence.”

Her comments received immediate backlash, including from some Muslims in this country.

For instance, education activist Asra Nomani stated, "This is a ‘taste’ of life for a Muslim family in America. Please don’t minimize the experience of Jewish Americans by sanitizing the hell that it is for Muslims living in Muslim countries and vilifying America for the life — and freedoms — she offers Muslims like my family.

“Go, live like a Muslim woman in a Muslim country.

"You will come back to America and kiss the land beneath your feet."

Actress Julianna Margulies has been calling out Hollywood stars who have refused to back Israel in this war, stating, "I honestly don’t know what they’re afraid of. Losing, I don’t know, followers? I mean, it’s just insane to me.

"Listen, the last thing I thought in my life was that I’d be the one actress speaking out for Jews.

“But I’m proud to be here, and I hope I inspire other people to come out and talk and use their voice and use their platform to draw attention to this."

In addition to the pushback against Sarandon’s comments, UTA, a top Hollywood talent agency, has decided to drop Sarandon from its roster.

The agency confirmed the break with Sarandon to Fox News this week.
