"The last 21 years have been filled with pain, confusion, frustration, shame and self-harm that are a direct result of Nick Carter raping me," the woman claimed during the press conference.
"Even though I'm autistic and live with cerebral palsy, I believe that nothing has affected me more or had a more lasting impact on my life than what Nick Carter did and said to me," she added.
The alleged incident reportedly occurred on a tour bus following a show in Tacoma, Washington, 21 years ago. Ruth claims she was given a spiked drink and coerced to perform oral sex with Carter.
Ruth also claimed that Carter gave her HPV and threatened her if she revealed what happened.

The suit seeks over $30,000 in damages, according to the complaint.
Michael Holtz, an attorney for Carter, denied the allegations.
"No one should be fooled by a press stunt orchestrated by an opportunistic lawyer — there is nothing to this claim whatsoever, which we have no doubt the courts will quickly realize," he said.
Following the latest accusation, the Backstreet Boys have already had some business concerns. A holiday special called "A Very Backstreet Holiday" set for ABC later this month has been canceled, the network confirmed in the NBC report.
