ABC News Not Bending on Harris Request for Unmuted Microphones

When Joe Biden dropped out of the election, Donald Trump initially wanted to redo the debate schedule to include a debate on Fox News.

Harris was adamant that the debate schedule had already been set and she called on Trump to honor that schedule.

Now, however, it is Harris who is trying to change the rules.

But I Want to Yell at Trump

The Biden campaign set all the rules for the ABC News debate, and Donald Trump agreed to let Biden have everything he wanted.

No live audience, no problem. Muted microphones to avoid interruptions and crosstalk, no problem.

I actually thought the CNN debate was the best presidential debate we have seen in years because I cannot stand the crosstalk and everyone yelling over each other.

I would have zero problems if that were the new standard, to be honest.

Harris, however, wants the microphones to be kept live, and this is solely because she is hoping that Trump will interrupt her, and she can have the same moment she had against Pence in the 2020 election.

That is not going to happen, however, as ABC News has stood strong, at least so far, in stating that the original rules will remain in place.

Harris’ campaign is trying to flip the script, saying that Trump’s “handlers” are trying to protect him.

I have noted several times that the format worked quite well for Trump, so he should stand firm on the rules and refuse to give in.

Thankfully, he did, and I fully expect him to dominate the debate in September.

Harris, on the other hand, will likely start spewing word salads and have one cackling fit after another, as she is prone to do when she gets nervous or anxious, and she will be both during this debate.
