Dozens of protesters arrested at Trump Tower during protests
Donald Trump really stirred up a hornet’s nest when he had Mahmoud Khalil detained for the purpose of deportation.
Khalil is a former Columbia University student who was leading the pro-Palestine protests on campus.
A group called Jewish Voice for Peace stormed Trump Tower this week to protest the arrest, which led to the NYPD making dozens of arrests.
More Protests Against Trump
If I'm being honest, I am surprised it took the left nearly two months to organize a protest of this nature against Trump.
I thought we would see these protests after the election, and surely during the inauguration, but the left has been quiet.
Apparently, it took Trump trying to deport an alleged Hamas sympathizer to get them riled up, though.
To protest the arrest and possible deportation of Khalil, JVP showed up in force at Trump Towers, chanting, "We want justice. You say how, free Mahmoud Khalil now. We will not comply, Mahmoud, we are on your side."
I have to admit, considering Khalil appears to hate Jews and Israel, I was a bit shocked to see a Jewish organization at the heart of this protest…
As Jews, we are taking over the Trump Tower to register our mass refusal. We will not stand by as this fascist regime attempts to criminalize Palestinians and all those calling for an end to the Israeli government’s US-funded genocide of the Palestinian people. And we will never… pic.twitter.com/t2Ql8qRBgw

Then it all started to make sense to me. Checking the financials of the group, Open Society Foundations, a George Soros group, has given more than $500,000 to the organization, so now it all starts to make sense.
On its social media page, JVP posted, "Under the guise of fighting antisemitism, the Trump regime is using attacks on the movement for Palestinian freedom as an opening to dismantle civil liberties and the entire progressive movement.”
Just to give you an idea about Khalil, one of his attorneys, Ramzi Kassem, has defended members of al Qaeda.
This will all get litigated, of course, so the Trump administration need only show Khalil’s alleged ties to Hamas or prove that he has committed a felony or violent crime, and the immigration judge would really have no other choice but to allow the deportation.
As I stated in other reports, I really hope Trump has his ducks lined up in this case because if they lose, Dems are going to have a pretty big bullet in their gun come the 2026 and 2028 elections.
