Stranded NASA astronauts finally point their fingers for who to blame
Barry Wilmore and his crewmate Sunita Williams have been in space for over eight months.
They were supposed to be up there for eight days, but complications have stranded them.
As it turns out, Elon Musk reportedly offered to rescue them months ago, but the Biden administration declined the offer.
Leave Them There
Musk has repeatedly claimed that the Biden administration abandoned these astronauts, but the left has dismissed his comments as rhetoric.
Well, it turns out, Musk was telling the truth.
Wilmore just shed some light on that, responding to a question about Musk’s offer and if it was factual or not.
Wilmore stated, “I can only say that Mr Musk, what he says, is absolutely factual.
“So I believe him. I don't know all those details, and I don't think any of us really can give you the answer that maybe that you would be hoping for.”
The two astronauts were interviewed after Trump had given the authority to Musk to go get them as soon as possible.
The latest reporting on the matter that I have seen has Musk retrieving them in mid-March.
The two astronauts arrived at the International Space Station on June 6, but their Boeing Starliner craft had suffered multiple technical problems during the flight, and NASA determined it was too risky for them to travel back on the craft.
Former NASA administrator Bill Nelson said insisted that this was not politicized, stating, “I can tell you unequivocally, from a personal standpoint, that politics has not played any part in this decision. It absolutely has nothing to do with it.”
Musk broke the news during a recent podcast with Joe Rogan, saying that SpaceX was in a lawsuit with the Biden DOJ at the time, and he felt that SpaceX rescuing the astronauts would be considered a big win for Trump.
Musk stated, “So people say, like, 'Oh, Elon's making it up. The Biden administration wasn't against SpaceX.’
“I'm like, bro, the Department of Justice had a massive lawsuit against SpaceX for not hiring asylum seekers, even though it is illegal for us to hire anyone who is not a permanent resident.”
This is more or less he-said-she-said right now, but I am sure the facts about this will come out soon enough.
And if it does turn out Biden refused Musk for political reasons, you better believe that is going to blow up in the face of Democrats.
The party of empathy… but only when it benefits their agenda.
