Democrats start work on Nancy Pelosi succession plan

The House Democratic Party campaign arm has started collecting biological information on potential successors to Rep. Nancy Pelosi.

The bombshell news should have millions of Americans cheering.

It means we're one step closer to getting Pelosi out of America's government once and for all.

While the announcement that Democrats are checking out replacements for Pelosi doesn't mean that the old girl is gone just yet, it's a promising sign for many who hope Pelosi will step down at the end of her term.

Pelosi has been gumming up America's government for YEARS, and countless Americans can't wait to see her go.

Just how long has shei had power and influence in America?

Well, here's a picture of her doing her job next to John F. Kennedy, who died in 1963.

That's over 60 years ago. While Pelosi wasn't serving in America's government at that time, it shows just how long she's been on the scene.

Now that she's 84 years old, Nancy Pelosi is no longer able to do as good of a job as she once did, and many Americans feel she was never even that great to begin with.

The San Francisco Standard reports that "the decision by campaign officials to begin identifying potential successors could be a pivotal step in moving on from the speaker emerita."

One source said, "You only do that if you think Pelosi's retirement is going to happen."

The sources didn't indicate who Democrats are looking at right now, but the San Francisco Standard listed a few potential replacements:

The sources did not say how widespread the search would be, but rumored or declared candidates to replace Pelosi include her daughter Christine Pelosi, who has served as a member of the Democratic National Committee; state Sen. Scott Wiener, who formed an exploratory committee to run for Pelosi’s seat in 2023 but has said he would never challenge her; and Saikat Chakrabarti, a former software engineer and staffer to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who has announced his intention to run in 2026.

Pelosi has consistently easily won her reelections since first elected to the House of Representatives in 1987, often earning more than 80% of the vote.

However, recent polling shows that Pelosi's popularity right now is nowhere near 80%.

"Just 52% of those surveyed had a favorable opinion of the congresswoman," the GrowSF poll concluded.
