Fox News personality diagnosed with cancer
If you are a fan of “Gutfeld,” you are quite familiar with Kat Timpf, who is a regular panelist on his show.
Sadly, Timpf got some bad news as she was about to have one of the most amazing moments of her life.
As she was about to give birth to her child, she found out that she had breast cancer.
Tragic News
Timpf got the news a mere 15 hours before giving birth to her child. The good news is that the diagnosis was Stage 0, and it was unlikely that it had spread anywhere else at this early stage.
She stated, “Last week, I welcomed my first child into the world. About fifteen hours before I went into labor, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
“As I’ve explained to the few people I’ve managed to tell about it so far: Don’t freak out. It’s just, like, a LITTLE bit of cancer.”
Even though it is Stage 0, doctors have still recommended she receive a double mastectomy.
Timpf explained, “I was waddling around from appointment to appointment, talking about how to get my cancer out. I sat and listened as they told me that the best course of action would likely be a double mastectomy as soon as possible.”
I cannot imagine the thoughts that went through her mind as she realized what was happening.
She continued, “I asked all the questions I could, including if I could get a copy of my tumor ultrasound to put on the fridge next to the ultrasound of my baby.
“Finally, by the middle of the night, I was crawling around on the floor of my apartment in spontaneous labor, before heading to the hospital to meet my baby, whom I’d learn at the time of birth was a son.”
Survival rate when breast cancer is diagnosed this early is extremely high at 99-99.6%. This is due to the fact the cancer cells have not yet started to spread from the original site.
We would like to extend our congratulations to Kat on the birth of her new child, as well as sending our thoughts to her regarding her cancer diagnosis.
Let’s hope she gets the treatment she needs and she is back on air on “Gutfeld” again soon with her quick wit.
We wish you and your new son the best, Kat.
