A$AP Rocky found not guilty on gun charges

In the entertainment world, one of the more polarizing cases over the last year has been that of rapper A$AP Rocky.

Rocky had been hit with gun charges regarding an alleged incident with A$AP Relli, who claimed Rockey shot at him, grazing him on the hand.

Rocky maintained the gun was a prop that he had picked up on a music video set, and his attorney also argued that Relli was making the entire thing up.

Rocky had been charged with felony assault in August 2022 over the incident.

According to police, the two men got into an argument in November 2021, which resulted in the alleged shooting.

The report claimed that Rocky “fired a handgun at the victim. The victim, A$AP Relli, sustained a minor injury from the incident and later sought medical treatment."

Relli described the incident, stating that Rocky pulled the weapon and told him, "I'll kill you right now."

He added, "He looked me in my eyes and pointed the gun at me."

Prosecutors offered Rocky a deal, which he turned down and insisted on going to trial to prove his innocence.

Had he taken the deal, he would have had to serve 180 days in jail, as well as probation and a suspended sentence.

Had he been convicted, he could have been sentenced to as much as 24 years in prison.

Rocky did not take the stand in his defense, as is his constitutional right.

When the verdict was announced, Rocky was brought to tears, leaping over the bench to hug his famous girlfriend, pop star Rihanna.

Rocky could also be heard thanking the jurors for their verdict as they left the courtroom.

Rihanna celebrated the verdict on her social media accounts, thankful the couple could finally move on from this ordeal.

The case gained national attention when Donald Trump discussed a possible pardon for Rocky, claiming that he had not been treated fairly by authorities in the case.
