Vivek Ramaswamy files to run for governor of Ohio
Some Republicans might be BAFFLED about Vivek Ramaswamy's decision to run to become governor of Ohio, but the reason why may vary.
It's possible that since Ramaswamy had a relatively successful run for president during the Republican primaries, Republicans might be BAFFLED that Ramaswamy would settle for being one of fifty governors. Also a possibility is the idea that Republicans might be BAFFLED over why Ramaswamy thinks he could serve as an entire state's governor despite never participating in lower-level local politics.
Regardless of the reason why Trump's team is BAFFLED over Ramaswamy's decision, Vivek is bound and determined to be the next Ohio governor.
According to NBC News, Ramaswamy is already taking Ohio's gubernatorial election very seriously:
"Vivek Ramaswamy has landed Vice President JD Vance’s top political advisers to guide his soon-to-launch bid for governor in Ohio, a source involved in the planning told NBC News," the outlet reports.
Breitbart indicates that Ramaswamy's campaign has already filed a Designation of Treasurer form, which is the official document a candidate must complete in order for their campaign to begin taking in or spending money.
Ramaswamy's official announcement is expected to come later in February 2025.
"It’s Vivek Ramaswamy -- I’m hitting the road for a major announcement, and I want to see you there!" his recently launched website teases.
The Associated Press indicates that Ramaswamy will kick off his bid to be Ohio's next governor on Feb. 24 in Cincinnati, his hometown.
His website also says that "on February 25, Ramaswamy will be at Glass City Center in Toledo and The Local Bar in the Cleveland suburb of Strongsville."
Ramaswamy's bid for governor has already been endorsed by fellow Republicans Robert Sprague, Ohio treasurer, and Frank LaRose, Ohio secretary of state.
Donald Trump is a supporter of Vivek Ramaswamy as well, previously having urged Ramaswamy to consider an appointment to Ohio's vacant U.S. Senate left by VP JD Vance.
Do you think Vivek Ramaswamy should become the next governor of Ohio?
