Representative Eli Crane to introduce articles of impeachment against judge blocking DOGE
Southern District of New York Judge Paul Engelmayer recently issued a temporary restraining order against the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency, blocking them from accessing America's Treasury Department's payment systems.
At least one Republican is NOT happy with this decision, and he's planning on doing something about it.
According to Breitbart, "Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) will introduce articles of impeachment against a federal judge who is trying to prevent the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from accessing Treasury Department payment systems to cut waste, fraud, and abuse, the congressman confirmed to Breitbart News.
Much like the "witch hunt" that was conducted against Donald Trump in an attempt to put him in prison and keep him out of the White House, many Republicans are calling Engelmayer's decision nothing more than "lawfare" against President Donald Trump.
LAWFARE: In an egregious and unconstitutional assault on executive authority, Judge Paul Engelmayer has unilaterally forbidden all of Trump's political appointees—including Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent—from accessing Treasury Department data. DOGE director Elon Musk addressed the situation on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.
He made it clear that he did NOT agree with Engelmayer's decision.
"A corrupt judge protecting corruption," Musk said. "He needs to be impeached NOW!"
Crane will introduce articles of impeachment against Engelmayer because of what he is calling "judicial overreach."
"Partisan judges abusing their positions is a threat to democracy," Crane said. "They don’t have some magical constitutional authority to inject their policy preferences over those of elected officials."
Crane appears to have the support of Donald Trump on this issue:
"It seems hard to believe that judges want to try and stop us from looking for corruption, especially when we found hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth, much more than that in just a short period of time," Trump posted on social media.
Trump concluded, "We want to weed out the corruption, and it seems hard to believe that a judge could say, we don’t want you to do that. So maybe we have to look at the judges, because that’s very serious. I think it’s a very serious violation."
