Trump campaign insider reveals Ivanka's role in arranging pivotal Rogan interview
Former -- and current -- first daughter Ivanka Trump played a significant role in her father's first stint in the White House, but announced her intention to remain on the sidelines when he declared his candidacy for a second term.
However, while Ivanka Trump has largely stayed out of the political limelight in recent years, campaign insider Alex Brusewitz recently revealed that she actually had an influential hand in orchestrating what may have been among the most pivotal events in her father's successful 2024 bid, as Fox News reports.
Pivotal moments define campaign
Last fall's presidential election cycle was marked by a series of indelible moments -- from Joe Biden's disastrous debate to the Butler, Pennsylvania assassination attempt -- that undoubtedly shaped the trajectory of the outcome.
But in terms of important media appearances, few could dispute the weight carried by Trump's expansive, multi-hour sit-down with podcasting giant Joe Rogan.
During a recent conversation on the Ruthless podcast, Bruesewitz went into detail about how the interview came about and how it fit into the larger media strategy launched by the campaign.
Ivanka, siblings take active role
Delving into the broader Trump family approach to the campaign, Brusewitz revealed a key detail to which not many were previously privy, namely, that Trump's daughter, Ivanka, was a bit more involved in behind-the-scenes decisions than was made public.
“President Trump actually has smart and impressive kids. All of them had input on the podcasts and the strategy of the campaign and what we did. I don't know if, you know, Jared and Ivanka want me to share this, but they were involved in setting up the Rogan interview,” he said.
Bruesewitz continued, “And Don [Jr.] had input on a lot of the different influencer meet-ups that we did. So the whole family played a role in that. And it's a luxury for the president has...he has smart and capable kids and not Hunter Biden.”
The campaign insider was also asked about news reports that Barron Trump was especially influential in convincing his father to explore the realm of podcasts as a mode of outreach.
“There's truth to that. Barron's a really smart guy, and he's really plugged in. I mean, he's an 18-year-old dude. And every 18-year-old dude likes, you know, these podcasters, and he has input,” Bruesewitz went on.
Settling back in
Despite her apparent involvement in her father's recent campaign, Ivanka Trump does seem to be largely sticking to her previously announced plans to make Miami her home base and to focus on family life and philanthropy for the next several years.
Fortunately for Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner, that transition is becoming easier with the passage of time, with the Daily Mail recently reporting that the couple has been re-embraced by the glamourous social circles that once shunned the duo over their close connections to the first Trump administration, in what is perhaps a sign that the MAGA movement is now chicer than ever before.
