Hegseth says ‘all options’ on table regarding Gaza
Donald Trump set the world on fire this week when he suggested that the United States take over Gaza.
Trump stated he wants the United States to have “long-term ownership” of the territory.
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth appears to be on board with it, saying that “all options” regarding Gaza are now on the table.
World Dominance
Trump is going a little crazy on taking over these areas, calling for the taking of the Panama Canal, Greenland, and now the Gaza Strip.
I am not sure where the money for all this is going to come, and while there may be some strategic advantages, is this not something that cannot be worked out in a deal rather than sinking American taxpayer money into these money pits?
Hegseth is going to go along with whatever Trump says, and to that point, when he was asked about Trump’s plan, he responded, "You bring peace by eradicating terrorists who seek the destruction of Israel. That's how you bring peace, and so I support that.
"What happens after that is a longer conversation, and hopefully in every case, the president would acknowledge this — you don't want to have to use American boots at all if you don't have to. That's my preference."
My preference would be for Trump to make American energy independent again so we are no longer relying on the Middle East for oil.
Then, rather than Americans paying for the rebuilding of Gaza, apply pressure to countries like Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, and Israel to take on the rebuilding of the area.
This is their neck of the woods, not ours, so why do we constantly have to play as the banker for all these rebuilding projects, especially when we are already more than $36 trillion in debt?
If Trump gets his way, we will be well over $40 trillion in debt by the time he leaves office, and that is not what we all signed up for when we elected him.
Maybe Trump actually has a plan that would make economic sense, but he has yet to explain it to anyone, so we will just have to wait and see what he comes up with on this front to justify all of this.
I would note, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was asked about this and her explanation of the plan was far better than what Trump had stated. If that plan is in play, which would call for our allies in the area to pay for the reconstruction, with the United States overseeing, that is something I could go for.
