MSNBC President Resigns After 4 Years at the Helm
Good news for conservatives… another leftist media boss is calling it quits.
The latest to resign is MSNBC President Rashida Jones.
She announced last week that she would be stepping down after having held this position for the last four years.
She’s Out
Jones made history at MSNBC when she was hired, being the first black president of the network.
In announcing her resignation to staff, she stated, “I came to this decision over the holidays while reflecting on our remarkable journey and the many successes we’ve achieved together as a team.
"This has been the most rewarding chapter of my professional career and I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished, which has been made possible only by you.”
Even though Jones has resigned her position, she will continue on in an advisory role through March while the network transitions to new leadership.
The interim president of the network will now be Rebecca Kutler, who was the senior vice president of content strategy.
Like many other cable news networks, MSNBC has been crashing in ratings and imposing cost-cutting measures to try and keep the network afloat.
Reports surfaced earlier this year that several prominent personalities were being either cut or asked to take a pay cut.
For instance, Rachel Maddow was asked to take a cut from her $30 million salary. Joy Reid and Stephanie Ruhle were also reportedly asked to take cuts if they wanted to stay on at the network.
Since election coverage has ended, the network's ratings have reportedly taken a 60% nosedive, recently falling behind CNN in the key 25-54 demographic.
Virtually every mainstream media news outlet has been revamping lineups and announcing cuts, with Fox News continuing to lead the way.
The 2024 election was not only a rebuke of policy in DC, but it was also a wake-up call for the media for not having honestly covered the Biden administration.
