Incoming NSA Says Former Intelligence Officials Needs to Face ‘Consequences

During the 2020 election cycle, the Hunter Biden laptop story was buried, mostly on the strength of a letter written by 51 former intelligence officials.

My belief has always been that these officials should have been held accountable, especially since it appears, at least to some extent, that they used federal resources for election interference.

Incoming National Security Adviser Mike Waltz has already hinted that they should be held accountable, and I agree.

Actions Have Consequences

When the laptop story broke, 51 former intelligence officials signed a letter saying that the laptop had all the appearances of a Russian disinformation or misinformation campaign.

Mind you, not a single one of them inspected the laptop, so this was all conjecture, but that letter was used by the mainstream media and Biden's campaign to dismiss the report, and it just vanished off the internet.

Of course, now we know the laptop was a real story, but not a single one of those officials has ever expressed remorse.

Not only that, but surveys after the fact also showed that this would have made an impact on the election, so yes, I think this was election interference, and apparently, so does Waltz.

He stated, “I mean, they basically said, ‘We have high level clearances.’ So, that means the American people can’t see what they know. Journalists can’t independently check what they know. So, essentially, they were saying, ‘Trust us.’ And I believe they horribly violated that trust.

“That’s a sick irony that they were the ones saying that MAGA world was doing the damage. They’re the ones who did the damage. Everything from raiding a former president’s home to hiding that laptop to signing a fake letter that was put out by the Biden campaign on misinformation.

“I think they did tremendous damage and there should be consequences.”

I agree with him, I only wish he would have held back on these comments until after his confirmation because Democrats will spin this as Waltz going after Trump’s political enemies, but that is not the case here.

These people used their titles and influence to impact the election in Joe Biden’s favor, misleading the American people to purposely help Biden’s campaign.

This is the very definition of election interference, and Waltz is right… they do need to be held accountable.

If not prosecuted, at the very least, every single one of those officials should have their security clearances revoked, which would ruin them in the private sector, many who get jobs with defense firms and the like because of their clearances.

Actions have consequences, and they need to pay.
