DeSantis Will Lead the Way Enforcing Trump’s Immigration Policies

As soon as Donald Trump takes office, we are expecting a flurry of executive orders to be signed, with a significant concentration on immigration.

I fully expect every immigration order given by Trump to be challenged in blue states, but I expect red states to enforce them from the outset.

Leading the charge will be Governor Ron DeSantis, who has stated that if need be, he will fire public officials who do not enforce these laws.

The Star

I have never hidden my affinity for Ron DeSantis. I think he is a rock-star governor and the future of the party.

He has also proven himself to be above the fray. After the hits the Trump campaign levied against him, most notably of Trump surrogates claiming Mrs. DeSantis was possibly faking her cancer diagnosis, among others, DeSantis is still fully supporting Trump’s agenda.

While I believe the relationship between Trump and DeSantis was fractured, DeSantis will not allow that to get in the way of pushing the conservative agenda with Trump in office.

To that point, DeSantis stated, "I have the authority, with respect to certain officials, to suspend them from office if they are neglecting their duties."

He added, "We're not a sanctuary state; we banned sanctuary cities, but you've got to have effective accountability to hold those folks accountable if they choose to go in a different direction.

"It will also require some funding. Not a lot of funding, but I have a lot of sheriffs that are chomping at the bit; they want to be able to help, and they just need a little bit of funding."

Unlike blue states, DeSantis will have no problem at all empowering local law enforcement to help deport criminal illegals in his state.

As I stated in a previous report, DeSantis is playing the long game here, hoping to keep his profile relevant for another run at the White House, which I believe will be in 2032 if Vance loses the 2028 election.

He could run in 2028 with Trump only being able to have a single term, but if Trump has a successful presidency, I just don’t see how Vance could be beaten.

If that is the case, I would expect DeSantis to push his candidacy back to 2036, possibly joining the Vance administration in a very high-profile role.

I still believe DeSantis will transition to the Senate after he leaves the governor’s mansion.
