POLL: Majority of Greenlanders Want to Join United States
Over the last month or so, the idea of absorbing Greenland as a US territory has gained some steam.
Donald Trump got this ball rolling, claiming it would strategically benefit the United States to make this move.
So, of course, a poll has been taken, and believe it or not, the majority of Greenlanders appear to be on board.
Save Us
Currently, while Greenland claims its independence, the Danes are calling the shots.
The country receives considerable funding from the Danes to keep its books balanced, which is one of the reasons I am against Greenland as a territory.
We already have a base there, and a deal can be made for the minerals it mines rather than absorbing this country and financially taking it on, something I don’t think we can afford, but I am not the one calling the shots here.
I can just see this in the future, with billions being shipped to Greenland and American citizens flipping out over the added tax burden.
There is also the question if the citizens of Greenland would be receptive, and that does appear to be the case.
A recent poll by Patriot Polling, a polling company that has only been in existence for only two years, found that 57.3% of those polled would support this move.
Only 37.4% were against the move.
The PM of Greenland has already voiced his opinion on this matter, saying the country is not for sale, so I really don’t see this happening regardless of current polling.
I think the door has been opened for a great deal to be made between Greenland and the United States for the minerals we need, but with the United States staring down the barrel of a $40 trillion debt, I just cannot support adding Greenland to the fold.
