Wray Explains Why He Resigned Before Trump Takes Office

FBI Director Christopher Wray was a Donald Trump appointee.

When Trump appointed Wray, regardless of what everyone is saying about him now, the decision was widely applauded on both sides of the aisle.

Today, we know that Wray was one of Trump’s worst mistakes, which Trump wanted to rectify on day one, but Wray has already announced that he will be resigning before Trump takes office.

Why He’s Leaving

Donald Trump has hit the ground running with the FBI, having already announced that he would fire Wray, while also nominating Kash Patel as his replacement.

When Wray was appointed, the position came with a 10-term, so he still had two years in office, but he also knew that Trump was going to fire him.

Rather than having a confrontation with Trump and a spectacle, in what Wray called one of the “hardest decisions” of his life, he has decided to step down.

He stated, “I care deeply, deeply — about the FBI, about our mission — and in particular about our people. But you know the president-elect had made clear that he intended to make a change, and the law is that that is something he is able to do for any reason or no reason at all.

“My conclusion was that the thing that was best for the bureau was to try to do this in an orderly way, to not thrust the FBI deeper into the fray.”

To me, Wray has been a complete and utter disappointment, and it has nothing to do with Wray ordering the raid at Trump’s home, which he also tried to explain.

I believe Wray bought into this DEI nonsense as well as allowing leadership to go rogue, inserting politics into law enforcement, and that is never a good mix.

I believe our country is less safe due to the policies of the Biden administration and people like Wray, and this should be priority one for Trump and Patel, if he is confirmed.

Patel will face resistance from Democrats, but many GOP Senators are supporting him because he does have the credentials to run the agency.

It will be something we and the mainstream media watch very closely to see if he can do as promised and clean up the agency.
