'Person of interest' in CA wildfires arrested by police

It's every Democrat's worst nightmare.

The most liberal city in the country, Los Angeles, is burning to the ground as a result of liberal lawmakers' mismanagement, as arsonists run wild around the city.

Still enjoying those soft-on-crime policies, liberals?

A man "attempting to start a fire" on Jan. 9 in a West Hills neighborhood that was already burning from the Kenneth fire is under investigation in connection with the 1,000-acre blaze, according to Los Angeles law enforcement officials.

Juan Sierra, age 33, was arrested by LAPD officers after he was seen attempting to spark a fire, according to a law enforcement email.

Per Yahoo.com:

Sierra was arrested on suspicion of a probation violation, but Ventura County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Monica Smith said Friday that he is a "person of interest" in the Kenneth fire, which began Thursday afternoon near the county line and was threatening homes in Calabasas and Hidden Hills.

The fire has been fanned by strong Santa Ana winds, which has resulted in roughly 960 acres of brush being consumed at the time of Sierra's arrest.

At the time of writing, fire officials are indicating that the blaze is about 35% contained, and evacuation orders have been listed.

Officer Drake Madison, an LAPD spokesman, indicated that Sierra was seen attempting to start a fire at 4:32 p.m. on Thursday evening.

Local good Samaritans detained Sierra after seeing him start the fire, and police arrived a short while later to arrest him.

The investigation has been turned over to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office after it was determined that the fire was started in Ventura County.

A man with Sierra's same birthday has been arrested at least three other times by LAPD since 2023, according to jail records from Los Angeles County.

According to Yahoo!, "Sierra had been under the L.A. County Probation Department's supervision since October 2023 stemming from an assault conviction, according to Vicky Waters, the agency's communication director. He had pending violations for failing to report to his probation officer and violating the terms of his probation, she said. Sierra last reported to the Probation Department in November 2024."
