Chicago Dems fighting to roll back city's sanctuary law

Donald Trump just keeps winning.

First, he won the decision he wanted and avoided jail in all of his court cases. Next, he won the election. Now, he keeps winning as liberals are being forced to admit they were wrong about Trump and his agenda.

Chicago Democrats are the latest to flip when it comes to Trump's policies, as they're now ready to fight against their own city's sanctuary laws that THEY put in place.

A pair of Chicago aldermen have brought about legislation that would roll back the city's sanctuary law that currently forbids any cooperation between local law enforcement and federal immigration authorities.

Raymond Lopez and Silvana Tabares, who are both democrats, recently filed a proposed amendment to Chicago's Welcoming City Ordinance, which would provide some exceptions for local law enforcement to work with federal immigration enforcers.

Some of the exceptions would include when the migrant in question has been arrested or convicted of certain criminal activities.

The alderman argued that it would be in the city's best interest to work with the incoming Trump administration in situations where the migrants in question have reportedly been involved in heinous crimes.

"We believe that the best way to protect law-abiding non-citizens from the returning Trump Administration is by working with them in apprehending their priority targets: non-citizens that CHOOSE to engage in dangerous, illegal activity once they are in the United States," Lopez said publicly. He added:

Our current [Welcoming City Ordinance] prohibits any coordination or cooperation, even in the most heinous situations.

According to Lopez, the Welcoming City Ordinance often hurts legal residents more than it helps illegal aliens.

"This policy is dangerous to those law-abiding undocumented and non-citizens residents because, if someone is arrested or convicted of crimes, the federal authorities aren’t notified," Lopez claimed.

"Should the federal government go looking for those specific individuals seeking to deport them, there is a high probability that other targets, law-abiding undocumented and non-citizen residents, may be apprehended and deported as collateral damage. That is an entirely unacceptable yet avoidable situation," Lopez concluded.

It's always interesting when Democrats come full circle and realize that their policies are the reason for so many problems! Trump has been VINDICATED in this instance!
