3 MN Democrats Among Dems Who Voted ‘No’ on Laken Riley Act

This week, the GOP scored a rather significant victory with true bipartisan support for the Laken Riley Act.

More than 40 Democrats voted in favor of the legislation in the House, and it beat the filibuster in the Senate. It should be on the floor soon for debate and a final vote soon.

Not shockingly, some of the usual suspects voted against the legislation, including Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN).

Not Protecting Americans

This legislation was not extreme right-wing legislation.

The nuts and bolts of this are centered around giving ICE the power to remove illegal immigrants who commit violent crimes against American citizens.

Yet, there were nearly 160 Democrats who voted against the legislation.

When you consider the statement made by voters in this election, that is a pretty bold thing to do.

The “no” votes were not received well on social media. Some of the comments posted were:

“Those voting against are the lowest form of a politician.”

“Democrats are proving over and over again how they hate the people of this country.”

“These very same Democrats that vote no for this are the same ones who feel they need private security. What a joke!”

Not shockingly, one of the Democrats who supported the legislation is Senator John Fetterman (D-PA), who has been very reasonable since taking office.

He stated, “If you’re here illegally and you’re committing crimes … I don’t know why anybody thinks that it’s controversial that they all need to go.”

Rep. Michelle Fischbach (R-MN) called out her fellow Democrat members of Congress as well as the other Democrats who refused to support this legislation.

She stated, “When this bill was introduced last year, Senate Democrats and the White House ignored it. This week, I’m saddened and surprised to say, there were still 159 House Democrats who voted against it.

“Had the policies in this bill been in place before Laken Riley’s tragic murder, local authorities would have reported her killer to ICE before he had the opportunity to commit this heinous crime and Laken would still be alive today. It is commonsense legislation to keep our communities safe.”

You better believe that Republicans are taking note of every name in the House and Senate that does not support this legislation to use it against them in the next election.

It is shameful that they are valuing criminal illegals over American citizens.
