Sunny Hostin’s Husband Accused of Fraud
Karma always has a way of evening things out.
To that point, “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin has been overdramatizing all things Trump for some time, including his legal issues.
Well, a bombshell report hit on Thursday that Hostin’s husband has been accused of committing federal insurance fraud.
Guilty!
I cannot help but laugh at this because it was not so long that Hostin suggested that Trump could be indicted on insurance fraud, gloating over the possible jail sentence he would get if found guilty.
Now, however, the shoe is on the other foot, and I cannot wait to see how she reacts to the trolls that are going to eat her alive.
Dr. Emmanuel "Manny" Hostin is named in a massive lawsuit that has nearly 200 defendants, alleging they were all taking “kickbacks” for surgeries and overbilling insurance companies.
The suit was filed by the American Transit Insurance Company, claiming, "Hostin knowingly provided fraudulent medical and other healthcare services including arthroscopic surgeries.”
After announcing the $450 million suit, the company stated, "The federal court complaint, filed in the Eastern District of New York, alleges that the defendants sought to take advantage of New York's no-fault auto insurance laws, which require insurance companies to reimburse their policyholders for the cost of necessary and documented medical care up to $50,000 for personal or private passenger vehicles ($200,000 for taxis and for-hire vehicles in New York City) for injuries arising out of an accident regardless of fault.
“These substantial possible no-fault recoveries can incentivize providers with ill intent to over-diagnose, over-treat, and over-bill to recover the most money for themselves."
Two of the witnesses in the case stated that after a minor accident with only “soft tissue” injuries, they were diagnosed to need and received surgery.
Hostin’s attorneys responded, "It is meant to intimidate and harass doctors from collecting for the care given to American Transit insureds and their passengers.
"The real story here is about an insurance carrier abusing the legal system to limit and restrict health care benefits to its insureds and their passengers, and write off its proper obligations."
I try not to wish negativity on anything because I believe Karma has a way of evening things out in the long run.
If this suit pans out, I would gladly sit back and smile that Karma has evened out life for Sunny Hostin, who deceives the American people on a daily basis on “The View.”
