Justice Roberts Calls Out Elected Officials for Intimidating Judges
Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts decided to bring in the new year by slapping our elected officials across the knuckles.
Numerous politicians, including, of course, Donald Trump, have been very critical of the judiciary in recent years.
To that point, Justice Roberts is reminding them that their words often have repercussions.

Roberts is trying to create some calm in regard to judiciary rulings, stating, “Attempts to intimidate judges for their rulings in cases are inappropriate and should be vigorously opposed.
“Public officials certainly have a right to criticize the work of the judiciary, but they should be mindful that intemperance in their statements when it comes to judges may prompt dangerous reactions by others.”
Roberts added, “Today, in the computer era, intimidation can take different forms. Disappointed litigants rage at judicial decisions on the Internet, urging readers to send a message to the judge.
“They falsely claim that the judge had it in for them because of the judge’s race, gender, or ethnicity—or the political party of the President who appointed the judge. Some of these messages promote violence—for example, setting fire to or blowing up the courthouse where the target works.”
I both agree and disagree with Roberts.
Generally speaking, judges get it right, but there are clearly cases when ideology clearly takes precedence over the rule of law and our Constitution.
Why is it just about every Trump case, you can predict the outcome based on who appointed the judge?
Why, when administration cases go before the court, does the liberal judge always side with the Democrat administration and reject a GOP administration, while the complete opposite is true when the case goes before a conservative judge?
If judges want to stop being criticized, remove the ideology from the equation and it will not be a problem.
