Trump Worried Dems Will Delay Cabinet Nominations
Donald Trump has had some interesting nominations as he readies himself for his second administration.
While I have stated before that I really do like some of Trump’s nominees, there are a significant number of them that are raising some serious questions about their ability to handle the job.
Trump is now worried that the Democrats will be pushing back on these nominees, hoping to delay their hearings in the Senate to hurt Trump.
Blocking the Administration
Trump expressed his concern this week on Truth Social, stating, “We just won a Historic Landslide and Mandate from the American People, but Senate Democrats are organizing to improperly stall and delay the confirmation process of many of our Great Nominees.
“They will try all sorts of tricks starting very soon. Republicans must not allow them to do that.
“We have a Country to run, and many big problems to solve, mostly created by Democrats. REPUBLICANS, BE SMART AND TOUGH!!!”
Nominees like Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) for Secretary of State and Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), are going to coast.
Nominees like Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense, Tulsi Gabbard as DNI, and RFK Jr. for HHS are going to see significant resistance, however.
There are also numerous nominations for ambassador positions that are going to get resistance.
Just as everyone else has done, Trump has appointed his big donors and people who helped his campaign into these positions.
This is of note because Trump has always stated he would drain the swamp, yet appointing donors is very much a swamp move.
One of Trump’s biggest donors, Linda McMahon, has also been appointed as Secretary of Education, even though her education experience is limited to eight months on a Connecticut school board.
As I have stated before, I don’t plan on pulling punches just because the person in the White House is going to be a Republican.
I will still call out bad policy and swamp-like moves, and Trump is giving people more than enough ammunition to go after him before taking office.
He has also attacked several Republicans in office, such as Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Chip Roy (R-TX), creating enemies within the party, which is now threatening the certification of the election.
Dig in, my friends, because this is going to be a wild ride.
