Sen. Mike Lee predicts demise of Mike Johnson speakership
Sen. Mike Lee, a Republican from Utah, is NOT happy about the job House Speaker Mike Johnson did in navigating a possible government shutdown and predicted that he should lose his gavel.
"I don't think Speaker Mike Johnson is going to remain in power," Mike Lee said during a recent appearance on Fox News.
Lee is FURIOUS about the way Johnson led the country straight into a near-shutdown. The senator claims that anybody could have seen that disaster was on the horizon.
As a result, Lee is suggesting that the next speaker of the House be an outsider, maybe even somebody associated with the Department of Government Efficiency. That means Elon Musk or Vivek Ramaswamy.
The next speaker should be a "DOGE speaker," Lee said.
"Vivek, Elon, if you're watching, please sign up, America needs you," Lee continued.

Sen. Rand Paul has also floated the idea of Elon Musk becoming House speaker.
"Nothing would disrupt the swamp more than electing Elon Musk . . . think about it . . . nothing’s impossible. (not to mention the joy at seeing the collective establishment, aka ‘uniparty,’ lose their ever-lovin’ minds)," Paul recently posted on social media.
Johnson received a brutal wake-up call from his own party when the 1,574-page government spending measure Johnson had endorsed was largely rejected by Republicans.
"Republicans want to support our farmers, pay for disaster relief, and set our country up for success in 2025. The only way to do that is with a temporary funding bill WITHOUT DEMOCRAT GIVEAWAYS combined with an increase in the debt ceiling," Donald Trump and JD Vance declared in a statement.
Johnson has not been having that great of a run as speaker of the House, but to be fair, he was put in a difficult situation.
Johnson only ended up with the job after California's Kevin McCarthy was removed from the position.
