Marjorie Taylor Greene slams WH for claiming ignorance on drone sightings
With reports of mysterious drone sightings in the Northeastern United States seemingly multiplying by the day, politicians at all levels of government are sounding the alarm and demanding answers.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has added her voice to the chorus of concerned Americans, suggesting this week that White House attempts to downplay the situation are “full of crap,” as the Daily Mail reports.
Government claims ignorance
Hordes of unidentified drones of unexplained origins have been making their way over the skies of New Jersey and elsewhere for roughly a month, with few answers forthcoming from federal authorities.
Both the FBI and the Pentagon have disclaimed specific knowledge of the source of these objects, prompting intense skepticism from everyday Americans and high-powered politicians alike.
Speaking to the Mail about the situation, Greene flatly declared, “I'm gonna call it total bulls*** that no one knows what these are.”
She continued, “And I think it's a slap in the face to the American people to say they don't know what this is.”
Referencing the recent death of UnitedHealth executive Brian Thompson, she added, “They can track down a guy that just killed a CEO, but they can't identify what these drones are and where they're coming from? I think that is absolutely disgusting to lie to the American people like this, and the truth needs to be told about it.”
Not just Greene
The Republican from Georgia is not the only one calling foul on the federal government's response to the drone mystery, with Democrat New York Gov. Kathy Hochul demanding action as well, as WABC noted.
Heavy drone traffic recently prompted officials at Stewart International Airport in the Empire State to shut runways for an hour due to drone sightings, something which in turn caused Hochul to declare, “This has gone to far” and to demand that the New York State Intelligence Center probe the incidents and also that Congress pass legislation to bolster the FAA's oversight of such craft and allow greater leeway for state and local agencies to investigate.
Also weighing in on the situation was none other than President-elect Donald Trump, who also cast doubt on the government's claims of ignorance on the topic and offered a refreshingly concrete approach to the problem, as Newsweek noted.
“Mystery Drone sightings all over the Country,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “Can this really be happening without our government's knowledge. I don't think so! Let the public know, and now. Otherwise, shoot them down!!! DJT.”
