Trump Reportedly Lost Faith in National Rifle Association

One of the organizations that has stood by Republicans for decades is the National Rifle Association (NRA).

Even though Trump did speak at its last big event, there is a feeling that Trump has lost faith in the organization and its mission.

This little tidbit came about after a report surfaced in the New York Times.

Losing Faith

The report comes via NRA First Vice President Bill Bachenberg, who reportedly posted a letter regarding the state of affairs between the NRA and Trump.

The letter reportedly stated, “I can say for a fact that President Trump and his inner circle have lost faith in the NRA.”

Bachenburg also noted, “I communicate with them often. We have a tremendous amount of work to rebuild trust with them, just like our members and donors.”

When Trump was asked about the report, his office responded, “President Trump believes that every American has a God-given right to protect themselves and their family, and he will defend law-abiding gun owners.”

Trump is questioning the loyalty of the NRA due to the name of attorney William A. Brewer III.

Brewer has represented the NRA in numerous cases, with the organization having paid him millions in legal fees over the years, some of which has found its way into Democrat campaign coffers.

During the last NRA convention where Trump appeared, he stated, “We need the Second Amendment for safety. Forget about going hunting and all the things you do — we need it for safety. Because you know the bad guys are not giving up their guns. The bad ones are not giving up their guns.”

I have to say, it is hard to explain having an attorney representing your interests who is supporting politicians who would love to see the NRA disbanded.

Kind of tough to argue with Trump on that one, folks.
