FBI Director Wray to be Fired, Replaced with Kash Patel
I think if you could go back and ask Trump what one of his biggest mistakes was in his first term, a Top Five on that list would be the hiring of Christopher Wray to head the FBI.
When Trump made the pick, Wray was applauded, but he just ended up being James Comey 2.0.
Come January, Wray will be gone, but will Trump’s initial pick to take over make it through vetting?
Patel for Wray
Trump has been very vocal about his disdain for Wray as the Director of the FBI, clearly hoping that Wray would resign so that Trump would not have to fire him.
Wray, however, has two more years left on his term, so he does not appear to be willing to go without a forceful push.
But make no mistake about it, Trump has no love lost for Wray, and this will be a day-one firing…

Trump has already nominated Kash Patel to replace Wray, and Patel would go into office with the immediate task of routing out rogue elements and ridding the department of DEI.
Patel is far from a cinch, and may wind up being one of the toughest nominees to get through the vetting process along with Pete Hegseth, who was nominated to be Secretary of Defense.
To be honest, I am not really crazy about either of these two picks. I would have preferred Patel to be the Deputy Director, but not the keys to the entire agency.
As far as Hegseth is concerned, every story I hear about him involves him being black-out drunk, so I can’t exactly say I am filled with confidence in that pick, either.
Patel has also stated numerous times that he would be going after officials who went after Trump, having stated, “Yes, we’re going to come after the people in the media who lied about American citizens, who helped Joe Biden rig presidential elections — we’re going to come after you.
“Whether it’s criminally or civilly, we’ll figure that out.”
That has people on both sides of the aisle believing Patel would be more interested in revenge than reshaping the FBI.
Time will tell, but there is resistance on both sides of the aisle, so, as I stated earlier, this could be one of the toughest appointments Trump has in terms of getting through Senate approval.
