REPORT: Assad May Have Been Killed in Plain Crash
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is on the run after reportedly resigning power last week.
Reports are now stating that Assad may have been killed.
The reports are still not confirmed, but a plane reportedly left Damascus around the time Assad fled the country and reportedly disappeared from radar.
Is He Gone?
Now the question is if Assad is really gone or if this is some elaborate scheme to make it appear as though he has passed away.
The report stated that a plane had taken off and started to head to the coastal region, but then it made an abrupt turn before disappearing from radar.
This was initially reported as a plane crash with Assad likely aboard, but that initial report has been removed with there now just being speculation about the plane and its passengers.
The plane was a Syrian IL-76T, and Syrian sources still say there was a very high probability that Assad was on that plane.
Complicating matters is the Russian Foreign Ministry stepped in to say that Assad has fled the country.
Russia has been backing Assad for some time, so it is not out of the question that some hoax was created to help protect Assad.
Dating back to 2016, Russia helped Assad capture Aleppo.
Russia also helped broker a ceasefire deal in 2020, with peace, albeit fragile peace, remaining in place up until this recent round of attacks that took place in November.
My gut tells me that Russia has Assad and is hiding him, and that the plane crash was just a ruse to keep everyone off his track.
