Melania Trump praises son's impactful role in husband's presidential election win

Though she personally played a somewhat limited and selective role in her husband's 2024 campaign, Melania Trump's son, Barron Trump, was said to have provided significant, game-changing input into his father's successful bid for the White House.

Now that the election is over, Mrs. Trump has stepped forward to laud her only child's insights into the political and media worlds, suggesting that his advice went a long way toward helping Donald Trump win another four years in the Oval Office, as USA Today reports.

Barron Trump, media guru

During a recent appearance on Fox News, Mrs. Trump discussed Barron's involvement in the recent presidential campaign, a role of which political observers of all stripes have taken note.

Speaking of her son in glowing terms, she declared, “He is a grown young man, I'm very proud of him about his knowledge, even about politics and giving advice to his father.”

Referencing his participation in campaign strategy this time around, Melania Trump added, “He brought in so many young people, he knows his generation.”

Specifically addressing Barron Trump's suggestion that his father engage with unconventional media outlets including podcasts, the former -- and future -- first lady said, ““Because nowadays, the young generation, they don't sit in front of TV anymore, they're all on their tablets, they're on their phones, and all of this these podcasts and streamers.”

Mrs. Trump further mused, “He was very vocal, and he gave advice to his father and was incredible how he brought in a success because he knew exactly who his father needs to contact and talk to.”

Ready to go

During the interview, Mrs. Trump also weighed in on what she is doing to prepare for the family's return to official life in D.C.

“Well, this time is very different because we already know where we are going,” she said.

Signaling that she possesses sufficient knowledge of the White House itself to plan her move from afar, Mrs. Trump added, “And we have all the plans from before, so we don't need to get back in,” in what seemed to be a reference to her decision to decline an invitation from current first lady Jill Biden for a post-election tea.

Mrs. Trump added, “My team is in contact with the White House, so that's a plus, but we have all what we need. So, this is the second time. So, it's nothing new.”

Emphasizing her vast experience in the role, Mrs. Trump noted, “I know what you need to establish, you know, what kind of people you need to hire that, to be in your office, so that's what I'm doing now. It's incredible and we are very, very busy. We can start on Day 1,” which is music to the ears of millions of Americans who simply cannot wait.
