Chicago Bears coach Matt Eberflus fired on day after Thanksgiving

If any Trump supporters are fans of the Chicago Bears or the NFL, they are probably STUNNED at what they saw over the Thanksgiving holiday.

After the Chicago Bears lost their Thanksgiving Day football game against the Detroit Lions on a last-second blunder, head coach Matt Eberflus was wished the best of luck in his future endeavors.

The decision to fire Eberflus came on Black Friday. If the coach saw it coming, he didn't let the public know.

Many people thought that Eberflus was safe in Chicago after he gave an interview to reporters on the morning of Nov. 29. During that call, Eberflus said that things around the Bears organization were "normal" and the team was preparing for its Dec. 8 game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Unfortunately for Eberflus, a few hours later, he lost his job.

This is the first time in the storied history of the Chicago Bears that the team has fired a head coach during the season.

Offensive Coordinator Thomas Brown will fill in as head coach on an interim basis.

Bears general manager Ryan Poles released a statement after letting Eberflus go:

This morning, after meeting with George and Kevin, we informed Matt of our decision to move in a different direction with the leadership of our football team and the head coaching position.

Poles added, "I thank Matt for his hard work, professionalism and dedication to our organization. We extend our gratitude for his commitment to the Chicago Bears and wish him and his family the best moving forward."

On Thanksgiving, the Chicago Bears were threatening to make an awesome comeback against the Detroit Lions.

Unfortunately, somebody in the Bears organization didn't pay proper attention to the game clock, and time ran out before Chicago could tie the game or take the lead.

The move was inexcusable to see from coaches and players making millions of dollars per year.

I'm sure Eberflus will find work soon. It just won't be in Chicago.
