POLL: Americans Approve of Trump Transition So Far
Democrats not only lost the last election, but they may have also lost the country.
I have to admit, I was a bit stunned with a recent poll regarding the support for Donald Trump’s transition thus far.
He received a whopping 59% approval rating, with 41% percent disapproving.
It’s a Hit
The CBS poll was clearly along partisan lines, but the shocker to me was how many Democrats are supporting what Trump has done thus far.
A mere 5% of Republicans disapproved of the Trump transition.
On the other side of the aisle, 22% of Democrats approved, which was an absurdly high number, in my opinion, considering how much Democrats hate Donald Trump.
What surprised me more was one of the picks that has been the most popular among all Trump’s cabinet picks.
Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) is among the top picks, but that is not surprising.
Rubio is going to serve as Trump’s Secretary of State, and there is simply no reason not to like this pick.
The shocker was Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is highly rated among Republicans, people under 30, and those without a college degree.
Those at the low end of the approval spectrum were not so surprising.
With Gaetz now out of the picture, Pete Hegseth as Defense Secretary and Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence are two very unpopular picks and I would be very surprised if both of them manage to get through the vetting process.
I know Hegseth served, but he only reached the rank of Major, and my preference for this position would be someone who had at least served as a General.
Gabbard has a laundry list of complaints about her from both sides of the aisle, and I was a bit surprised to see Trump nominate her in this role.
I would have loved to have seen her as an Ambassador to the United Nations or given control of the VA, but that is not where Trump saw her.
She and Hegseth are going to make for some very lively confirmation hearings.
