Trump picks former NFL player Scott Turner to head Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
President Donald Trump just confirmed it all in a recent press release.
When it comes to former NFL player and former Texas House representative, Scott Turner, Trump says YES. Trump has nominated Turner to serve as secretary of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.
“I am pleased to nominate Scott Turner, from the Great State of Texas, as the Secretary of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD),” Trump said in the press release.
“Scott will work alongside me to Make America Great Again for EVERY American. Congratulations to Scott, his wonderful wife, Robin, and his son, Solomon,” Trump continued.
Turner has quite an impressive resume!
He has served as the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council executive director, was a Texas lawmaker from 2013 to 2017, and currently is the chair of the Center for Education Opportunity at America First Policy Institute!
The incoming president and Turner have an excellent relationship, as evidenced by the fact that this is the second time Turner will serve in Trump's administration.
According to The Hill:
During Trump’s first term, Turner led the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council. The former president said that in the role he sparked "an Unprecedented Effort that Transformed our Country’s most distressed communities" in his Friday night announcement.
Turner is the first Black appointee to Trump’s cabinet in his second administration. He still needs to be confirmed by the Senate."
Turner also had an impressive career in the NFL, playing for the Redskins, Chargers, and Broncos back in the 90s and early 2000s before he launched a career in politics.
Appearing in 101 games in the world's premier American football league, Turner finished his career with 89 tackles, five interceptions, and two sacks.
Hopefully, Turner can add to those career numbers by tackling liberal corruption and overspending in Washington.
Do you think that Trump made the right pick by selecting Scott Turner?
Let's pray that he did. Trump may have already won the election, but he's going to need some serious help in Washington to undo the damage caused by liberals in recent years.
