Trump transition team says former Rep. Mike Rogers will NOT be FBI boss
The rumors about President Donald Trump are endless, but one of those rumors was just extinguished once and for all.
When it comes to former Rep. Mike Rogers, he will NOT be put in charge of the FBI.
According to Trump’s deputy chief of staff, Dan Scavino, Rogers is not even on Trump’s mind for the role.
Scavino took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, where he confirmed it all.
“Just spoke to President Trump regarding Mike Rogers going to the FBI. It’s not happening -- In his own words, ‘I have never even given it a thought.’ Not happening,” wrote Scavino in his recent X post.
Many speculated that Rogers would be chosen to be the next FBI director.
In fact, former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe told CNN News that Rogers is a “totally reasonable, logical selection for the role.”
However, McCabe’s words of approval were NOT welcomed by Rogers.
Rogers took to X to fire back, saying that McCabe’s words on CNN were “FAKE NEWS.”
“McCabe abused FISA to spy on Americans and perpetuated the fake Steele Dossier. McCabe represents all the political FBI lawyers who wrongly politicized and weaponized the FBI. IT’S DISGRACEFUL AND UN-AMERICAN,” Rogers continued on X.
However, despite Scavino saying Rogers will not be chosen for the FBI role, it does NOT mean current FBI Director Christopher Wray is out of the woods.
Trump has long since had plans to get rid of Wray when he took back the White House.
The question here now is WHO will Trump select if not Rogers?
Many now believe that it could be Kash Patel -- a favorite of Trump’s and also someone with extensive expertise in national security.
Additionally, Patel is said to have a “deep loyalty” to Trump, according to the New York Post.
Whom do you think Trump will select as the next FBI Director when he takes office?
