REPORT: DOJ Staffers Worried About Return of Trump

Ever since Donald Trump announced he was running again for the 2024 election, one of the narratives by Democrats has been that this will be a revenge tour for Trump.

Trump has since stated that his only revenge will be a successful second term.

That has not quelled the fear in the Department of Justice (DOJ), however, as reports are surfacing that many of the current DOJ staffers are worried about Trump going after them for the cases that were brought against him over the last four years.

Revenge Tour

There are some big questions that have to be answered as soon as Trump takes office.

One of those is if members of this DOJ were in contact with prosecuting attorneys going after Trump.

If Fulton County DA Fani Willis, New York Attorney General Letitia James, and Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg were coordinating their cases with the DOJ, someone is going to have to answer for this.

This seems likely from the evidence that has been presented thus far, especially in the Fani Willis case.

There is now fear running through the DOJ that Trump’s incoming AG will be rooting out these individuals to have them all fired, so many of the current DOJ staffers are now reportedly considering resigning before the hammer calls.

One current DOJ staffer stated, “Everyone I’ve talked to, mostly lawyers, are losing their minds.

“The fear is that career leadership and career employees everywhere are either going to leave or they’re going to be driven out.”

Stacey Young, a trial attorney in the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, added, “Many federal employees are terrified that we’ll be replaced with partisan loyalists — not just because our jobs are on the line, but because we know that our democracy and country depend on a government supported by a merit-based, apolitical civil service.”

I would say that if you did nothing wrong, you would have nothing to worry about. But, if you bent the rules trying to make a case against Trump, you should be worried.

Trump has already stated that he is going to nominate Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) as his AG, and while I think Gaetz will be challenged to have his nomination get out of the Senate, I think that name will strike fear in the heart of any rogue DOJ officials.

I would love to have seen someone like Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) take this position, but Trump clearly wants a loyalist in there after what happened during his first term.
