Jessica Simpson Sparks Divorce Rumors After Social Media Post

The amateur sleuths in the music world are trying to figure out what Jessica Simpson meant by a post she made on her social media account.

Simpson referred to herself as being alone, but she is currently married to former NFL player Eric Johnson.

Many believe that it could be a sign the marriage is on the rocks and a divorce could be imminent.

The Cryptic Post

In her post, Simpson wrote, "This comeback is personal. It’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve."

Fans immediately interpreted that as Simpson hinting at problems with her marriage, but her sister says that is not the case.

When Ashlee Simpson was asked if her post meant a divorce was imminent, she responded simply, “No.” However, TMZ reported that Simpson’s friends are making inquiries with divorce attorneys on her behalf.

Others believe this could be her getting back at some of the music executives that gave her a hard time when she first entered the industry.

For example, Simpson claimed that legendary producer Tommy Mottola told her that she needed to lose 15 pounds if she wanted to be successful.

At the time, Simpson only weighed 118 pounds, carrying it on a 5’3” frame, so there was not much give there.

Simpson wound up using diet pills to lose the weight and yes, she did get down to 103.

This took an emotional toll on her, and she would continue to use diet pills and literally have nightmares about losing weight.

She was also once told by an executive that they “would never recover” the investment they had made in her.

Simpson replied, "It wasn’t my choice to have Scott Storch or all these producers that [cost] a million dollars a track.

"I didn’t control those budgets. We were just yes-people, and in saying yes to everything, I lost it all."

Simpson has clearly made it back, now worth hundreds of millions. But as far as her marriage is concerned, well, we will just have to wait till how this all pans out.
