Possible AG Warns Letitia James to Back Off Trump
After Donald Trump was elected, New York Attorney General Letitia James held a press conference to say she was not going to back down on Trump.
As a matter of fact, she pretty much declared war on him.
Mike Davis, who is being mentioned as a possible Attorney General for Trump, is now warning her to back off.
Leave Donnie Alone
Trump had no sooner been declared the winner of the race when James called a press conference.
The controversial AG stated, "We did not expect this result, but we are prepared to respond to this result. And my office has been preparing for several months because we've been here before.
"We faced this challenge before, and we used the rule of law to fight back.
“And we are prepared to fight back once again because, as the attorney general of this great state, it is my job to protect and defend the rights of New Yorkers and the rule of law. And I will not shrink from that responsibility."
Mike Smith, the founder of the Article III Project, responded, “I dare you to try to continue your lawfare against President Trump in his second term.
“Listen here, sweetheart. We’re not messing around this time and we will put your fat ass in prison for conspiracy against rights. I promise you that.”
I think he could have used some better wording there because every statement made on this is going to be analyzed at the Nth degree.
I would prefer my AG to sound more professional and not like a thug at the local bar with the spotlight that is going to be on Trump during this administration.
I don’t really know enough about Davis, but he would be a bit of a shock to me as Attorney General.
I would have bet just about anything that Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) or Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton would have been atop that list.
But, to this point, the only official appointment that has been announced has been Trump’s Chief of Staff, but it was a big splash.
Trump made history by appointing the first female Chief of Staff for a president in history, so I would expect more big announcements to come soon.
