MN Muslim Leaders Endorse Trump Over Harris and Governor Walz
You guys know I don’t put much emphasis behind endorsements, but this one could be different.
Numerous local Muslim and Somali leaders in Minnesota have come out to endorse Trump.
This is significant on two different fronts and should definitely have Democrats worried.
This is a Problem
First and foremost, the problem for Harris and Walz is that this is taking place in Walz’s home state of Minnesota, which has a particularly heavy Somali population.
Second, if Muslim leaders in Minnesota feel this week, we have to think there is a similar feeling in Michigan, which is a key Blue Wall state as well as another state with a heavy Muslim population.
In endorsing Trump, one of the local leaders stated, “The reason why is because he’s a fighter. That’s it. We like fighters.
“More importantly, they left us. They left us. Thirty-three percent of our kids in third grade cannot read at grade level… we are failing in every standard.
“Eighth graders, 60 percent, cannot do math at grade level. These are our kids.”
He continued, “We talk about economic conditions here. Our conditions is horrible. We can’t afford anything as working-class and middle-class people.
“Now please understand this, we love our brothers and sisters who are Democrats, but you left us. And because the left left us, join the right, vote for Trump 2024.”
Do I think Trump can win Minnesota, which would be a nightmare for Walz and Harris? No, but I do believe this will take some of the popular vote away as well as this feeling bleeding into Michigan, a far more important state as far as Trump is concerned.
Trump and Harris have been in a very tight race, with the most recent polls showing no more than a two-point lead for either candidate or a tie.
If Harris loses the Muslim vote in Michigan, she likely loses the state, killing her easiest path to victory in this election.
