Pollster predicts Ted Cruz defeat in Texas Senate race

Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas may be in trouble, according to a well-known pollster.

Ivan Moore, a pollster for Alaska Survey Research, made a shocking prediction.

Cruz “is gonna lose, for sure” in the upcoming election.

Moore took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, where he let his prediction be known in a post.

“Is Kamala Harris going to win Texas? I think it's going to be close! Ted Cruz is gonna lose, for sure,” Moore wrote in the X post.

Moore did not stop there.

He also went on to write in a separate X post that “The polls had Allred consistently running 4/5 pts better against Cruz than Harris against Trump. Texas always an outlier, but Cruz's days are numbered.”

Moore’s prediction and statistics are not the only ones like them.

A poll from Emerson College noted that Cruz is only beating his opponent, Democrat Rep. Colin Allred, by less than two points.

If Cruz does lose, it would be the first time in three decades that a Democrat would be voted into the Senate from Texas, according to MSN.com.

Making things even more difficult for Cruz is the fact that the Dallas Morning News recently endorsed his opponent.

The paper's editorial board released a statement regarding Allred that set the Internet on fire and without a doubt shocked Cruz.

“We looked not only at their actions but also listened to their words, and, after doing so, we recommend voters cast their ballots for Allred in the coming election,” the board wrote.

Regardless of if you do or do not support Cruz, you have to admit the race appears to be closer than many Republicans initially anticipated.

Do you think Cruz will pull off another victory or do you think Moore will be right in his prediction?
