Former Pence Aide Disputes General Kelly’s Account

General Kelly, Donald Trump’s former Chief of Staff, is on the warpath against Donald Trump right now.

Kelly recently stated that Trump used to idolize people like Hitler, claiming that Trump once stated, “You know, Hitler did some good things, too.”

That account is now being challenged by Nick Akers, Vice President Mike Pence’s former Chief of Staff.

He’s Lying

According to Akers, he was around Donald Trump more than just about anyone, and Kelly was rarely, if ever, alone with Trump.

Akers maintains that generally speaking, he was present with Kelly he was around Trump.

Furthermore, he stated that Kelly was never shy about letting everyone know when he did not agree with Trump, and at no time did he ever hear anything along the lines of what Kelly is now saying about Trump.

Akers pushed back on Kelly’s comments on X, posting, “I’ve avoided commenting on intra-staff leaks or rumors or even lies as it relates to my time at the White House but General Kelly’s comments regarding President Trump are too egregious to ignore.

“I was with each of them more than most, and his commentary is patently false.”

He backed that up during a Fox News interview…

This is all being revived after a hit piece was published in The Atlantic against Trump, which was quickly used by Kamala Harris during a recent rally appearance.

The author of the piece was Anne Applebaum, and it was titled, “Trump Is Speaking Like Hitler, Stalin, and Mussolini.”

Breitbart’s John Nolte reported that Applebaum was also “one of the first people to formulate the ‘Russia collusion’ hoax, even before the votes were counted in 2016.”

Someone here is lying, and since Trump is infamous for stretching tales, he never gets the benefit of the doubt on this front.

Akers, however, still remains loyal to Pence, so I have no reason to doubt him on this, and his account is backed up by the fact that in almost every picture you see of Kelly, Akers is hovering in the background.

With this rift still present between Pence and Trump, there is really no reason not to believe Akers on this one.
