Gabbard Officially Flips, Joins Republican Party
During the 2020 presidential election cycle, former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) was a beast.
She singlehandedly took down Kamala Harris and sent her packing before the first primary vote was cast.
Gabbard recently left the Democrat Party, becoming an Independent, but she just changed that as well.
Time to Change
Gabbard was always an underdog in 2020, while Harris started the race among the three favorites, the other two being Biden and Sanders.
Gabbard was a moderate, however, taking a far different stance than most of the people on stage and completely exposing Harris’ record as a prosecutor.
Between Gabbard’s attacks and Harris all but calling Joe Biden a racist, not to mention her arrogant and disastrous interview in the spin room after the debate, Harris fell like a rock and was out of the race before voting even started.
After dropping out of the race, Gabbard became the Biden administration's number one critic, regularly appearing on Fox News.
Gabbard has since endorsed Trump, very likely to get a prominent role in Trump’s administration if he wins.
I am fairly confident that is why Gabbard just announced she is now a registered Republican.
Gabbard joined Trump in North Carolina to break the news, telling rally attendees, "I'm proud to stand here with you today, President Trump, and announce that I'm joining the Republican Party. I am joining the party of the people.”
Trump was caught by surprise, with Trump responding, "Thank you very much, Tulsi. That's great. Wow, that was a surprise.
"That was really, she's been independent for a long time. That's a great thing. A great honor. Thank you very much, Tulsi."
I really liked Gabbard as a Democrat because it was a dissenting vote we knew we could count on for certain issues, and I surely enjoyed her support for Republicans since 2020.
I don’t have a problem with Gabbard joining the party, but people need to realize she is a moderate, and her agenda will not fall in line with the MAGA agenda all the time.
My fear is that if and when she clashes with Trump on an issue, everyone will turn on her, and that will simply not be fair.
As I have stated many times, we need more moderate candidates who support Trump in more moderate states, but don’t get upset when they are not in step with every agenda issue.
These people get paid to represent their constituents, not Donald Trump, and I have zero problems pushing back on a specific agenda issue because that is what that particular Republican’s constituents genuinely want.
Remember, we don’t elect leadership; we elect representation. All we can ask is that if Gabbard runs for elected office again, she does right by the people who vote for her. And what they want may not be what I want in Texas or what you want in your home state, nor more may it be what Donald Trump wants.
