Harris Says She is Not Taking Support of Black Male Voters for Granted

Kamala Harris is really struggling to bring young black male voters into the fold.

She is currently polling at about half of what Obama did when he ran for office, so this is a huge problem for Harris.

She has tried several approaches, none of which have worked, yet she insists she is not taking their vote for granted and is trying to earn their support.

By Shaming Them?

Harris clearly has the support of the black men who have been elected to office in the Democrat Party.

Having said that, younger male black voters are not buying her message, so the campaign has largely tried to shame them into voting for her.

Look at Obama’s comments, telling young men they should vote for her because she has the same experiences they had growing up.

He was not telling them to vote for her on her record or what she offered as president, but instead, solely because she is a black woman.

A PAC supporting Harris has mocked men as being afraid if they don’t vote for a woman, and Harris’ creative team has insinuated that black women would not find them attractive if they did not vote for Harris.

Yet, when Harris was asked about winning them over, she responded, "I have the support of countless Black men who are in elected positions.

Yes, and that is because they are in the Democrat Party and have no choice but to support her.

She continued, "That being said, I think that you are absolutely right that there’s this narrative about what kind of support we are receiving from Black men that is just not panning out in reality in terms of when I go to -- last night, Atlanta, and had I think 10,000 people at a rally.

"I am very clear, I must earn the vote of everyone regardless of their race or gender. And what can be frustrating sometimes is to have journalists ask me this question as though one should assume that I would just be able to take for granted the vote of Black men.

“I think that's actually an uninformed perspective because why would Black men be any different than any other demographic of voter? They expect that you earn their vote."

I can tell you from my own interactions that Harris is in big trouble here.

I was just in Austin this past weekend for the Longhorns game, and I had this very discussion with numerous young black men I met at the events leading up to the game and out around town.

In every instance, they stated they did not support Harris because of her pandering and making promises they know she will never keep. It was only a small sample, and this is Texas, but Harris does some to be in big trouble on this front.
