An announcement regarding a split in former President Donald Trump’s family has made headlines.

Barron Trump and his then-girlfriend ended their relationship a few months after Barron moved to Florida to attend high school.

Now, the former girlfriend has stepped forward to reveal the reason behind their decision to separate.

Barron’s former girlfriend, who goes by the name “Maddie,” made a video that she shared on the popular platform, TikTok.

According to Maddie’s video, it was the long distance that ultimately drove the pair apart.

Many know that Barron Trump attended school in New York City when he was younger, a long way from where he ultimately went to high school, and the separation proved too much.

Maddie still seems to think very highly of her ex, saying that he was “the nicest” and “the best.”

She even talked about a wonderful memory from when Donald Trump was elected president, and Barron Trump took his entire class to the White House.

“For those asking, I went to school with Barron Trump, and he was my first bf. When Trump was elected he brought the entire class to the White House. We gotta save my bae!” Maddie said.

However, while Barron studies to get his degree at New York University, his new fellow classmates have mixed emotions about his dating life.

“He's going to NYU so if he is at all interest in girls, he's going to become kind of liberal I'll tell you that,” one NYU student said to the DailyMail.com.

Another student said that she thought her mother “is going to want me to marry him.”

Others seem more than willing to embrace Barron with open arms.

“Who wouldn't want to be friends with a Trump?” another student questioned.

The fact that Barron’s former high school girlfriend is still speaking highly of him says a lot about the kind of young man who truly is!
