How Lisa Marie Presley Found Out Her Son Committed Suicide
The daughter of legendary singer Elvis Presley, Lisa Marie Presley, has not exactly had a wonderful life.
She has always lived under a microscope and every moment has been publicized simply because of her last name.
Sadly, that microscope also appeared to impact at least one of her children.
Horrible News
In 1988, Lisa Marie married Chicago-born musician Danny Keough.
The couple shared two children: a daughter named Riley and a son named Benjamin Storm.
The couple was divorced in 1994, and about three weeks later, Presley was married to Michael Jackson, which really turned her life into a circus.
Lisa Marie had virtually disappeared from the public eye until just before her death, when she made an appearance at an event honoring her father, looking extraordinarily frail and sickly.
Not long after that, on January 12, 2023, Presley died from a heart attack at her home in California.
Many believe the death of her son is what sent her down that last road to her death, and that is quite understandable, especially having learned that her son took his own life.
Presley’s daughter, Riley, was the one to tell her mother the horrible news.
In Riley’s new book, “From Here to the Great Unknown,” she documented the day she had to tell her mother the news.
She wrote, “I ran to her suite and started banging on the door.
“I already knew, clear as day, in those moments banging on her door, that any time I got with her after what was about to happen would be a gift. I couldn’t imagine her living without my brother.”
She went on to say that her mother kept her son’s dead body in the house for months before his burial, keeping the house ice cold to preserve the body.
Riley added, “Despite all this love she still had inside her, and all of her effort to life, we could all see it.
“We all knew my mom was going to die of a broken heart.”
Three years later, Riley received a call from her father telling her that Lisa Marie had passed.
