Grassley Drops Allegations Against FBI Regarding Misconduct Allegations
Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) is stirring the pot again.
Grassley has been investigating allegations of sexual misconduct against the FBI.
This week, he dropped a little note to Attorney General Merrick Garland that Director Wray does not seem to be taking this too seriously.
Get a Move On
Grassley started investigating this about two years ago, and he is not too happy with what he has found.
After whistleblowers came forward regarding various sexual misconduct allegations that were reported, Grassley has been getting stonewalled by Wray.
In fact, one letter dates back to 2022, but it has still not yet been answered.
Grassley stated, “Apparently, one of the reasons DOJ and its component agencies can’t straighten out their problems of workplace harassment is that the fox is guarding the hen house.
“The supreme irony of [then-Executive Assistant Director of the Human Resources Branch, Jeffrey] Sallet requesting the [Office of Disciplinary Appeals] review of senior officials retiring or resigning to avoid disciplinary action is that 'Sallet left the FBI and federal service while this investigation was ongoing.'"
Grassley also inquired about how the agency was handling abuse cases against children after he was told by agents that some of the personnel working on these cases had been reassigned to work the January 6 cases.
Grassley stated, “One thing is certain, the FBI will not be able to remedy its many failings in this area if it treats sexual abuse against children as a non-priority.”
Grassley has demanded that the DOJ respond to his requests by October 24, but I would not hold my breath based on previous interactions with Garland.
Donald Trump appointed Wray, and I think we can all agree that Wray wound up being one of Donald Trump’s biggest disappointments.
To that point, I am sure firing Wray will be a Day One task for Trump if he wins this election.
